this is what boomkat had to say
"This month's Wire comes with the latest in the magazine's Wire Tapper series (we're up to 19 now) featuring tracks by Nico Muhly, Fluorescent Grey, Talvin Singh and Kaffe Mathews. Inside the magazine you'll find a central article on Gudrun Gut, the label boss of Monika and additional interview pieces with Religious Knives and Benga. There's also a J Dilla retrospective, a primer on Henry Cow and an Invisible Jukebox with Michael Rother - not to mention an early verdict on the new Portishead album."

Norman Records in the UK gives
Fluorescent Grey's Gaseous Opal Orbs album of the week
" I've been waiting for 'Gaseous Opal Orbs' for a while now ever since his 'Lying On The Floor' disc. A download only album kept me going during the wait. I have a particularly fond memory of listening to a track that had a title something like 'Moth Cocoons' and I was listening to it on crowded metro train and imagined I was in a cave with the passengers being giant moths. Yes Robbie Martin's music will certainly take you places. The album has tribal sounds, dub sounds with the most futuristic, vivid sound design and sonic sculptures you'll here at the moment. Relentlessly inventive, experimental, quirky, hallouconogenic abstract.... I'm truly lost for words. Inspirational stuff and a cool more underground alternative to the Autechre album.
